Van-Far runs over Chaffee 46-9 to win first district football game since 2014

Football season is continuing at Van-Far after the No. 4 seed Indians defeated No. 5 Chaffee (5-5) 46-9 in a Class 1 District 2 tournament game in Vandalia. The Indians (6-4) hadn't won a district game since 2014, when they defeated Clopton (whose team has since disbanded) 26-24. Quarterback Nikos Connaway scored four rushing touchdowns, and Ty Evans and Gage Gibson each ran for another to help the Indians score a season-high and its highest output since scoring 48 in 2016. Van-Far's defense held its fifth opponent to single digits and have held opponents to less than 10 points in four straight games.

Van-Far is scheduled to play at No. 1 seed St. Vincent (7-3) in Perryville on Nov. 10. St. Vincent defeated Russellville 56-6 on Friday.
