Vandalia man arrested for child sex crimes

On Jan. 28, the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation in reference to sexual abuse allegations concerning a juvenile victim in Vandalia, MO. As a result of the investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies executed a search warrant at a residence and arrested Dana Ray Hull, age 36, of Vandalia, for child sex crimes and failure to register as a sex offender.

On Jan. 29, 2025, Hull was formally charged by the Audrain County Prosecuting Attorney for the following offenses:

  • Count I: with violating Section 566.062, RSMo, by committing the Class U Felony of Statutory Sodomy Or Attempted Statutory Sodomy - Deviate Sexual Intercourse - Person Less Than 14 Year of Age;
  • Count II: with violating Section 566.062, RSMo, by committing the Class U Felony of Statutory Sodomy Or Attempted Statutory Sodomy - Deviate Sexual Intercourse - Person Less Than 12 Years of Age; 
  • Count III: with violating Section 566.151, RSMo, by committing the Class U Felony of Enticement Or Attempted Enticement Of A Child (Actor 21 Yrs Of Age Or Older And Child Less Than 15 Yrs Of Age): 
  • Count IV: with violating Section 589.425, RSMo, by committing the Class E Felony of Fail To Register As A Sex Offender Pursuant To 589.400-425.

Hull remains in the Audrain County Jail on a No Bond Arrest Warrant.

This investigation remains active, and no further information will be released at this time. 

All suspects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
