The Williams Family Support Center (WFSC) celebrated last week with an unveiling of its new kitchen remodeling on Tuesday Nov. 14.
The project cost more than $53,000 from funds raised by the WFSC board members, Williams Family members and other sources. Among the attendees were Board Members Tim Williams, Don Decker, Nancy Decker and Darin Preis, executive director of Central Missouri Community Action (CMCA), Kathy Kigges, family member and contributor, Beth Vossler, Head Start Director For CMCA, Patty Voshell, site director for the WFSC, Audrain County commissioners, Mexico City Manager Bruce Slagle and teachers and support staff who work every day at the center.
The original building was constructed in 1995 and named in honor of Turner and Julia Williams whose grandson, Steve Sparks, provided most of the funds for construction. The building hosts the CMCA Head Start and Early Start programs rent free. Hundreds of children have utilized the services at the WFSC since its opening.
