Erdel, William R. “Bill”, born June 17, 1950, in Mexico, Missouri, to John and Kay (Hagan) Erdel, passed away peacefully.
Bill was a 1968 graduate of Mexico High School and earned the rank of Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 35 in Mexico, Missouri. He proudly served in the United States Army, including a tour in Vietnam from 1971 to 1972.
Bill went on to build a successful career spanning more than 30 years in the home remodeling industry in St. Louis. He was known for his strong work ethic and the care he showed to those around him.
He is survived by his son, Alex Erdel (Vicky) of Wildwood, Missouri, and his daughter, Katherine Erdel of Columbia, Missouri. He is also survived by his brothers, Dick Erdel (Becky) and Dan Erdel (Cheri); his sister, Kathy Beykirch (Paul); his grandchildren, Theo and Sophia Erdel; and his special partner, Beth Kleekamp of Washington, Missouri.
Bill is also remembered fondly by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom he cared for deeply.
Services: Funeral from the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. to The Oratory of Saints Gregory and Augustine Catholic Church, Richmond Heights for 9:00 a.m. Mass. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Bill requested that donations be made in his honor to one of the following charities: Tunnel to Towers Foundation or The Kaufman Fund, which support veterans, or The Oratory of Saints Gregory and Augustine or the Priests of the Sacred Heart, which support Catholic ministries.
