Winter weather causes accidents.

On Nov. 30, an 18-year-old woman from Jefferson City sustained serious injuries in a one-vehicle accident that occurred at 9:24 a.m. on US 63 South of Aufranc Rd. According to the Missouri State Highway patrol, the accident occurred when the driver of the 2004 Ford F150 was going too fast for conditions. The northbound vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking a road sign and concrete culvert causing the vehicle to overturn and eject the driver. The vehicle was totaled and Boone County EMS Transported the driver to University Hospital.

On Dec. 1, a 36-year-old Columbia woman sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident that occurred at 11:18 a.m. on Rt. VV .5 miles north of Wildwood. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when the driver of the 2015 Nissan Xterra lost control of the vehicle on the snow-covered road. The southbound vehicle overturned coming to rest on its right side blocking both sides of the road. The driver was transported by ambulance to University Hospital and the vehicle was totaled.

On Dec. 2 a 38-year old woman from Wright City sustained moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident that occurred at 3:35 p.m. on MO 22 at Audrain County Road. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when the driver of the 2016 Ford Ecosport struck the right shoulder before sliding off the road. The eastbound vehicle struck a telephone pole and the driver was transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.
