Audrain County Crisis Intervention Service (ACCIS) will be holding its big fundraiser of the year, Fall Into Fashion, on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at the Audrain County 4-H Center.

Social hour is from 5 to 6 p.m. with dinner beginning at 6:15.

“This is our biggest fundraiser of the year,” ACCIS Volunteer Coordinator Shanann Owens said. “It’s kind of a big deal for us.”

Some local businesses are stepping up to help out including The Carlson House that will be serving dinner and a cash bar will be provided by The Pearl Martini and Wine Bar. Tickets can be purchased at four different places including Serendipity Closet, Merle Norman, Sparkly Pig and the ACCIS office. Ticket prices are $30 and the evening will include a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle.

Owens said after dinner is served there will be a short speech about ACCIS and its purpose.

“Hopefully we’ll educate people on what we’re actually doing,” Owens said.

The fashion show will feature five different Mexico businesses. Each business will get to show up to six different outfits with each business providing their own models.

This will be the fourth year for the fashion show. One year was skipped because of the pandemic. Owens said ACCIS had tried different fundraisers before with limited success. Others had tried fashion shows before also with limited success however, the ACCIS board of directors decided to give it a shot. Owens said it was a good decision.

“We just took it and ran with it,” Owens said. “It’s worked great for us so we’ve continued it.”
