The Audrain County Historical Society Board of Directors has announced the hiring of Jennifer Prior as director. With more than 25 years of management experience working with employees and volunteers, Jennifer has created and coordinated programming, services, and fundraising efforts.

The position is responsible for the coordination of all museum events, programs, and activities as well as the organization’s performance, direction, development, and financial management. Jennifer Prior began work at the museum on June 12. Previously, Prior worked as Operations Manager for Storage Plus, Inc. and for Finck & Associates, Inc.

“Jennifer has diverse experience with budgets, fundraising, strategic marketing, and outreach initiatives and we are excited to have Jennifer lead the museum and the Audrain County Historical Society into the next chapter,” said Dr. Bronwyn MacFarlane, ACHS Board vice president/secretary and chair of the search committee.

A long-time resident of Audrain County, Prior has been actively involved in leading community activities. She served as director of the Miss Audrain Scholarship Pageant; PTO past-president, Choir & Band Parents at Mexico High School, and currently serves on the Cabinet for the Handi-Shop Partners for a Better Tomorrow Capital Campaign. She is married to Steve Prior and they have two sons, Isaac and Ethan.

“To strengthen the future of the historical society, the board of directors is focused on continuing to make improvements to museum performance and budget, Jennifer brings a wealth of operations experience to ACHS to achieve that important goal,” said Erik Richardson, ACHS Board President.

Prior earned a B.S. in business administration with an emphasis in marketing from Columbia College.
