Alvin E. Jones, 93, Hallsville, Mo. passed away Monday, March 6, 2023, at the Community Living Center at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia. He was born February 21, 1930 in Hillsboro, Ill., the son of the late Walter and Effie (Boyd) Jones.
Alvin served his country in the United States Army. He first worked as a farmer and later worked as a truck driver for many years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and enjoyed bowling, golf, dancing, and baseball.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Living Center at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital, c/o Oliver Funeral Home, P.O. Box 125, Centralia, Mo. 65240.
