The Audrain County Health Department (ACHD) board of health elected officers for the upcoming year at its October board meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 13.
Dr. Kathleen Weaver was retained by the board as its chair. Also returning to her role as secretary is DayNeisha Shivers, RN, and board member Darla Eggers was named treasurer of the board.
“I’m grateful the board had faith in returning me to the role of chair of the board,” Dr. Weaver stated. “I am committing myself to continuing the work we have set out to accomplish. I look forward to getting to work with the rest of the board, our administrator and our county commission to continue to bring the best health care we can to the residents of Audrain County.”
Board members Barb Wilson and Jessica Ekern round out the five member board. During the October meeting, the board of health also voted unanimously to renew ACHD administrator/CEO Craig Brace’s contract.
“I’m glad to see the continuity of the Audrain County Health Board continue,” Brace said. “I feel we have a very strong board who truly care about the residents of Audrain County and the myriad of health issues that face them ranging from the current COVID-19 pandemic to basic foot care. Our hope is that this continuity will allow us to continue a strong response to our ever-changing health landscape in Audrain County.”
The board meets every second Wednesday of each month at 5 p.m. in the conference room at the Audrain County Health Department at 1130 S. Elmwood Drive in Mexico.
