Two Mexico couples, Dan and Cheryl Erdel and Randal and Stephanie Owings, have continued to support and invest in Mexico and Audrain County and on May 1, the Erdels and the Owings purchased Audrain County Title Company.
Audrain County Title Company was incorporated in 1917 by A.P. Green and R.M. White.
Dan Erdel said the couples didn’t want to see the title company closed, leaving a vacant building on the square, or sold to an out-of-town company.
With the ownership change, Audrain County Title Company continues to be locally owned and operated in Mexico.
Erdel stated he expects Audrain County title Company to continue to provide the most accurate and dependable title insurance. The business employs four title agents and has recently hired a new employee to ensure prompt service to customers
Owings stated the purchase has been a significant investment to ensure local ownership.
“I hope people feel as we do about supporting local ownership,” he said, “and will help us continue a business providing a necessary service located in a building on the Mexico square.”
