The program will include some short films on Sir Winston L. S. Churchill (1874-1965) and information on the museum. The 150th anniversary of Churchill's birth is Nov. 30, and the world is celebrating this anniversary throughout 2024. Churchill gave his “Sinews of Peace” (Iron Curtain) speech at Westminster College on March 5, 1946. President John Kennedy made Sir Winston L.S. Churchill an honorary citizen of the US on April 9, 1963. The first day issue of the 5 cent US Postal stamp “Winston Churchill” was in Fulton, on May 13, 1965. The Winston Churchill Memorial & Library (now America's National Churchill Museum), Westminster College, Fulton, MO was dedicated in May, 1969.
