On Saturday, July 27 Living Hope UPC of Mexico held their 3rd Annual Back to School Fun Day where kids in the Mexico area received free school supplies for the school year along with free food and games for the whole family. Living Hope UPC partnered with Ty Lue's C2C organization and Biker's Against Child Abuse (BACA) Local 13 Staff this year. Both contributed to and volunteered for the event.
The community came out in full force and reached over 300 attendees. One attendee stated, "This is an amazing event. Thank you for doing this - it really helps."
“We met some wonderful families and made new community connections,” said an event spokesperson. “We are grateful to have the opportunity to help families afford back-to-school supplies, and we are already planning next year's event.”
The event was led by Melinda Fierge, Sunday School director, under the leadership of Pastor Shawn Martincic.
