The Community Health Ministry Team will host its 15th Annual Back to School Health Fair outside the Mexico United Methodist Church on Saturday, Aug. 3. The event will start at 8am and run until 12 noon. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to receive supplies. This will be a drive-through event, and the location will once again be in the city parking lot north of the church, with traffic entering the parking lot from Jackson Street and exiting on Promenade St.
Once again, The Audrain County Health Department will be there as well as The Arthur Center. “Shoes from the Heart” from Macon, will provide vouchers with instructions on how the kids could receive a new pair of tennis shoes after the school year opens.
The event is sponsored by The Mexico United Methodist Church, The Community Health Ministry team, The Audrain County Health Department, Healthy Blue, Coil Construction, The Arthur Center, Shoes from The Heart, KXEO/KWWR Radio, The Mexico Ledger, The Ad Finder, Melody’s Jewelry, and Mexico Public Safety.
“In closing, we must also thank the Anna Margaret Griffin Family Foundation, whose financial support makes this event possible,” said John Johnson, chairman.
