The Van-Far R-I Board of Education has named Blaise Stuedle principal of the junior-senior high school.
Stuedle, who now serves as the high school agriculture education teacher and FFA sponsor, will replace Kim Pafford when she retires at the end of the school year.
Stuedle has taught at the high school for five years. He has a master’s degree in agriculture communications, leadership and education from the University of Missouri, and is working toward a specialist degree in education policy and analysis. He lives in Vandalia with his wife, Ashtyn, and sons Larson, 3, and BuckLee, 4 months.
“I’m looking forward to encouraging change and continuing tradition,” Stuedle said. “I think we need to look at the culture at the school and make sure we’re giving teachers the resources they need to be successful.”
The search for Stuedle’s replacement will begin in the new year.
