Bruce Edward Norfleet, 76, of Mexico, passed away on Dec. 25, 2023, peacefully in his home.
Bruce was born on Sept. 16, 1947 in Mexico, Missouri, the son of Edgar Norfleet and Ruth (Bridgeford) Norfleet.
A 1965 graduate of Mexico High School, Bruce lived his life in rural Audrain County on a row crop farm and beef cattle operation. He returned to the family farm in 1985 after being employed as a freight hauler at Budig Western Truck Lines. He had a fond love for watching western movies, rodeos, his horse Nelly and the entire equine industry. He was a man of few words, but many stories.
Bruce is survived by his son, Kent (Allison) Norfleet of Mexico and daughter, Kendra West of Centralia; four grandsons, Grant Norfleet, Jackson Norfleet, Jake West and Logan West; three siblings, Sharon (Stuart) Bigelow of Columbia, Glen (the late Lana) Norfleet of Drakesville, IA, and Glenda (Robert) Poage of Mexico; as well as numerous nieces, nephews & their families.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Audrain County 4-H foundation. Memorials may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
A modest celebration of life will be held for family and friends to share stories and memories at the 4-H Center Saturday Jan. 13,from 3-5 p.m.
