Carl Robert Myers, 90, of Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at his home.

Visitation is from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. on Friday, August 9, at Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico.

Graveside Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. East Lawn Memorial Park with Tony Maxwell officiating.

Carl was born on October 7, 1933, in Mexico, the son of Roy C. and Edna Ardelle (Farrah) Myers. On January 30, 1953, in Pocahontas, Ark., he married Wynema Stevens. She passed away on November 21, 2020.

Mr. Myers graduated from Mexico High School. He worked 12 years for the Mexico Ledger and then started K & M Printing in 1958, selling office supplies and gifts. He also ran the Midwest Motorcycle Magazine out of the printing store.

Carl remodeled the Coca-Cola building and was a huge collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia. He rode his bicycle in the RAGBRAI race and was an avid runner, earning medals and trophies in countless races. In the 1995 Senior Games, he earned six medals.

Survivors include one son, Carroll Myers of Mexico; one daughter, Rose Ann Myers of Mexico; four grandchildren, Justin Myers of Mexico, Joshua Myers of LaPlata, Whitney Rowland of St. Louis, and Jackson Simon of St. Louis; eight great-grandchildren, Anthony, Gavin, Tegan, Landon, Cora, Hudson, Levi, and Wyatt; one great-great granddaughter, Oakley; and one sister, Betty Houf of Des Moines, Iowa.

In addition to his wife, Wynema, Carl was preceded in death by his parents, and one daughter, Carla Simon.

Memorial donations may be made to the Mexico YMCA or to Mexico Bulldog Basketball. They may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson Street, Mexico, MO 65265.
