Centralia’s ReaLee Smith resided in the middle of the pack Thursday.
Smith goes into the Missouri Golf Association junior tour championship Monday and Tuesday at Greenbriar Hills Country Club in Kirksville coming off a fifth-place finish at A.L. Gustin Golf Course in Columbia. Her high school teammate, Kennedy Dickerson, was two spots behind her in the 16-18 girls group.
Smith shot a 93, or 23-over par, after collecting three pars on the day and finishing the front nine with a 44, or nine-over par, and the back nine with a 49, or 14-over par.
Dickerson finished with a 99, or 29-over par, shaking off a quadruple bogey on the par five first hole to compile a 53 on the front nine and a 46 on the back nine.
Cairo’s Addison Pollard came in eighth with a 125.
Jefferson City’s Camryn Swinfard won after shooting an 80, or 10-over par.
In the 16-18 boys group, Mexico’s Aidan Knipfel finished 13th with a 91, or 21-over par. He started the day with an eagle on the first hole but had a quadruple bogey on the par four third hole. His day concluded with a 42 on the front nine and a 49 on the back nine.
Osage Beach’s Gunner Schuster won after shooting a 71, or one-over par.
Knipfel is currently second in the standings with 72 points — 63 behind Eldon’s Teagen Hull.
In the girls standings, Dickerson is fourth with 77 points, which is 88 points behind the leader’s, Swinfard, 165 points. Smith is sixth with 66 points, Mexico’s Kennedi Rowe is tied for 10th with Pollard’s 23 points. Centralia’s Bailey Pace is 12th with 17 points.
