Centralia may have finished second in the Class 3 District 4 Tournament but was the top team on postseason awards lists.

The Lady Panthers had seven all-conference players this year, which is the most in the Clarence Cannon Conference, and then eight of its players were announced as all-district days later to give Centralia the most among those teams. Jozelynn Bostick, Harper Sontheimer and Autumn Hawkins were three of the eight unanimous all-conference selections while Bostick and Hawkins appeared on the all-district first team and Kaelyn Walters and Sontheimer were second team all-district. Walters was named second team all-conference along with Makenzi Adkisson, Tilly Fox and Meredith Wright while Adkisson and Wright made the all-district second team with Ellie Page, and Fox was an all-district honorable mention.

Bostick had the best slash line all season for Centralia at a .505 batting average, .561 on-base percentage, .602 slugging percentage and 1.163 OPS while ranking second with 30 RBI, 30 runs, 20 stolen bases and nine doubles and having five errors in 30 games as the team’s shortstop. Hawkins played the role of the consistent leadoff hitter, ranking first with 52 hits, 37 stolen bases, 48 runs and 15 walks while having a second-best .468 average, .535 on-base and 1.013 and committing four errors in 32 games as the center fielder. Sontheimer was behind Hawkins with 11 walks while owning a .347 average, a third-best 34 hits at the plate and a fourth-best 12 steals on the bases and having five errors and six passed balls in 160 innings at catcher.

Walters pitched the majority of the innings this season at 159 1/3 innings, finishing with a 3.47 ERA, 118 strikeouts, 63 walks and a 17-12 record. In the final five games of the season, with four happening against state-caliber teams and three happening in the postseason, Walters owned a 1.09 ERA. She hit .313 with nine RBI and 19 runs scored in 75 plate appearances and stole a third-best 16 bases.

Despite playing 8-10 less games than her teammates, Adkisson finished with a team-high 35 RBI, 13 extra-base hits and 11 doubles and was one of three on the team with an OPS over 1.000 (1.007). She finished with a slash line of .348/.413/.594, five strikeouts in 12 innings in the circle and one error in 121 chances in the field when she sustained a season-ending ankle injury Sept. 29 at Clark County.

Meredith Wright led the team with three home runs — with Sontheimer and Adkisson each behind her with two home runs — and had a third-best .380 average and fourth-best .937 OPS. When she was not playing a clean first base (two errors in 67 chances), Wright was pitching, striking out 17 in 18 2/3 innings.

Fox ranked fourth with a .375 average, .444 on-base percentage, 25 runs scored and 12 stolen bases and fifth with 33 hits. As an outfielder, she ranked first with five outfield assists, including one in Centralia’s final game for the district title against Father Tolton.

Page ranked third with 34 hits and fifth with a .366 average while also finishing with a .440 on-base and nine walks. She had seven multi-hit games and three with at least three hits, including her 3-for-3 performance in the district semifinals against Hallsville. As the third baseman, Page had nine errors in 117 chances while turning five double plays — second behind freshman second baseman Madi Johnson’s 10 double plays.
