Kyla Spickert has been leading the Lady Panthers all season.
Her season will continue as she will represent Centralia at the Class 2 state girls golf tournament Monday and Tuesday at Fremont Hills Country Club in Nixa after qualifying at districts on Monday. Spickert finished sixth out of 64 golfers at the Class 2 District 2 tournament at Eldon Golf Club in Eldon after shooting a 91.
Eldon’s Avery Wells was the individual district champion with a score of 75 and the cutoff score was 98 by five different golfers. Lyla Mattison and Cami Moser were closest to that for Centralia in a four-way tie for 31st with a 111, Madie Shelton was in 50th with a 127, and Emerson Eckler in 51st with a 130.
Centralia finished ninth out of 11 schools with a score of 440, and Eldon won the team title with a 379.
Mexico girls miss out on state
The Mexico girls golf season came to an end on Monday.
The pair that competed at the Class 3 District 4 tournament at Eagles’ Landing Golf Course in Belton. Alexis Henderson and Brenda Matuz finished 46th and 47th, respectively, out of 49 golfers with scores of 152 and 158.
Capital City’s Jaycie Lowery was the individual district champion with a score of 78, and Smithville was the team champion with a score of 383.
Paris season ends at districts
The season ended for Paris girls golf on Oct. 9.
The Lady Coyotes didn’t qualify anyone for the Class 1 state meet at the Class 1 District 3 tournament at Heritage Hills Golf Course in Moberly. Layla Reichmann had the team’s best score of 124 to finish 42nd on the par 70 course, and the Lady Coyotes were 13th out of 13 schools with a score of 552.
Paris’ next best score belonged to Grace Henry with a 139 in 62nd place, Eryn Skinner was next with a 141 in 64th, Kentlie Ensor shot a 148 to finish 70th, and Abigail Wheeler shot a 162 to finish 76th.
Highland won the team district title with a score of 400 and individual district title with Morgan Crist’s 88. Marceline’s Ella Sportsman matched Crist’s score of 88.
