Mexico’s Reams named NJCAA All-American
Former Mexico standout Isaiah Reams left a good impression on his way out of North Central Missouri College.
In his final season at the junior college in Trenton, Reams earned a third-team NJCAA All-American honor after being an integral part of the Pirates’ elite eight team that tied a school-record 27 wins. Reams was one of two Pirates selected as leading scorer Tyler King was a first-team selection.
Reams was second on the team in scoring at 18.5 points per game and also averaged 4.5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1.6 steals, a 56.6 field-goal percentage, a 42.3 3-point percentage and 80.8 free-throw percentage. After NCMC earned an at-large national tournament bid, he didn’t stop as he averaged 17.5 points, six rebounds, 3.5 assists, two steals and hit eight total 3-pointers in four tournament games.
Centralia’s Wells goes distance to be AMC pitcher of the week
Centralia southpaw Jackson Wells is making an impact in college.
Wells earned an American Midwest Conference pitcher of the week award from his performance April 6 for Missouri Baptist University against William Woods University, pitching a complete game of seven innings with six strikeouts, four hits and three walks. It’s the junior’s first career pitcher of the week award since transferring from St. Charles Community College.
