The Missouri FFA Association recognized Pacey Cope of the Community R-VI FFA Chapter as the State Star in Agribusiness at the 95th Missouri FFA Convention. He is the son of Aaron and Mandy Cope of Laddonia. His advisor is Stacy French.
The State Star in Agribusiness is chosen based upon outstanding production agriculture in the student’s supervised agricultural experience program and active participation in FFA.
American Family Insurance sponsors the State Star in Agribusiness Award.
Cope’s supervised agricultural experience consists of owning and operating two small businesses. The first business being Cope Kids Pumpkins where he oversees the maintenance of an 11-acre pumpkin patch. Cope is responsible for cleaning, processing, delivering, and marketing of the pumpkins. The second component of his SAE is Cope Kids Pork Sale. He is responsible for marketing quality pork to customers. The daily feeding and maintenance is required to produce pork products to allow the business to flourish.
Cope served as a chapter treasurer. He has competed in career development events such as meat evaluation and agricultural sales. He was also selected to attend the Missouri FFA Helping Youth Maximize Agricultural eXperiences Academy.
In addition to FFA, Cope is a member of the Merry Martins 4-H Club, attends the Hart Career Vo-Tech Center, and is a varsity baseball player.
After graduating high school, Cope plans to attend the Iron Eagle Welding School-Stockton. Once completed with the welding program, he plans to continue his SAE project while pursuing a career in welding.
