Daniel Wayne Brooks, 57, of Martinsburg, passed away on Friday, May 3rd, 2024, peacefully at his home, surrounded by family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsburg with Fr. Derek Hooper officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church. A Prayer Service with a Rosary will follow.

Daniel, the son of Donn and Karen (Elliott) Brooks, was born on January 31, 1967 in Mexico. He was one of six children. On October 18, 1986, he married his high school sweetheart, Amy L. Ahrens at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsburg. They lived outside of Auxvasse for 11 years, before building their current home in Martinsburg in 1998. There, they raised their four children and continue to make many cherished memories.

Mr. Brooks was a 1985 graduate of Community R-6 High School. He began working for Ahrens Steel in 1986 and was the Assistant Manager of the Columbia location. Daniel was also a small-scale farmer who took pride in raising and caring for his cattle.

Daniel was very quick witted and had a sense of humor that was appreciated by many. His strong work ethic allowed him many accomplishments, yet he was a simple man and remained humble. He was a man who cherished the outdoors, taking walks in the creeks and riding throughout the countryside with his wife, kids, and grandkids whom he loved deeply.

Survivors include his wife, Amy Brooks of the home; four children, Amanda (Jordon) Beshears of Middletown and their children, Adelyn, Heidi and Waylon, Aaron Brooks of Martinsburg and his children, Jake and Kenzie, Danielle Brooks (Drew Gill) of Martinsburg and Deann Brooks (Blaze Escamilla) of Mexico; his father, Donn Brooks of Laddonia; four siblings, Dana (Michelle) Brooks of Laddonia, Kim Dungan of Laddonia, Kelli (Kevin) Smith of Mexico, and Keane (Kristi) Brooks of Laddonia; one sister-in-law, Angie Pursifull of Mexico, and several nieces and nephews.

Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Brooks; one brother, Del Brooks; and grandparents, August and Elizabeth Brooks, Abner William “Jack” Elliott and Maurine Schlag.

The family is grateful for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers they have received throughout this journey. There are no words to express how much it has meant to the family and it is a great comfort to know how many lives he has touched.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Joseph Catholic School. They may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson Street, Mexico, MO 65265.
