Darell Woodrow Sublette, 82, of Mexico, passed away on Fri., Feb. 16, 2024, at Heritage Hall in Centralia.

Memorial Services will be at Rush Hill Community Church with Rev. Bob Stanford and Sam Hobbs officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Laddonia Cemetery.

Darell was born March 18, 1941, in Montgomery City, the son of Woodrow W. and Fay (Penn) Sublette. On Feb. 7, 2013, in Mexico, he married Roberta McIlhatton Zuroweste.

Mr. Sublette was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served in Korea and was the Chief Driver for the CO around the base.

Darell enjoyed a long career as a truck driver. He was a member of the Rush Hill Community Church, where he participated in the men’s prayer group. He also loved watching old westerns on television.

Survivors include his wife, Roberta Sublette of the home; one daughter, Sonja (Ty) Eldridge of Mexico; two sons, Troy Sublette of Columbia and Tony Sublette of Texas; one step-son, James Zuroweste of Mexico; one step-daughter, Melissa (Steve) Shaw of Stockton; six grandchildren, Kristin (Mitch) Jurgesmeyer of Mexico, Megan Eldridge of St. Louis, Shannon (Trent) Beshears of Laddonia, Jared Sublette, Tyler Sublette and Zach Sublette, all of Columbia; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, Clayton and Lauren Jurgesmeyer, and Kendall and Carly Beshears; four step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Marge (Don) Rupp of Columbia; and two brothers, Bruce (Janice) Sublette of Tucson, Ariz., and David (Lorene) Sublette of Rush Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Darell was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Kathy Sublette.

Memorial donations may be made to Rush Hill Community Church or the Central MO Honor Flight. Both may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson St., Mexico, MO 65265.
