On Saturday, September 25, 2021 at approximately 12:50 a.m., the Mexico Public Safety Department responded to the 600 block of S. Abat in reference to a fire. Responding personnel found the back deck of a home burning. The fire was contained and extinguished in that area with the deck and siding of the home suffering significant fire damage.
The fire was apparently caused by careless disposal of smoking material. There were no injuries from the incident.
