Services for Delores Ruth Williams, 92, of Laddonia, will be at noon Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021 at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Laddonia with Brother Chris Atkinson officiating.

     

Burial will follow in the Laddonia Cemetery.

     

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

    

Mrs. Williams passed away Saturday, Nov. 27, at Tri County Care Center in Vandalia.

Delores was born Nov. 4, 1929 in Mexico the daughter of Ocie and Dulcye Elam Dubray. Her biological mother passed away just a day after her birth. Mr. Dubray later married Lila (Stuart) Dubray who became "mom" for the rest of her life.

     

She was a 1947 graduate of Laddonia High School and attended Gem City Business College in Quincy, Ill. where she would take a job with Miller, Castle, and Frieburg Insurance in Quincy.

     

She married Joe L. Williams on Feb. 19, 1950 in Perry and they moved to the farm where they still reside today.

     

Survivors include her husband, Joe L. Williams of Laddonia; one son, Larry (Janet) Williams of Perry; three daughters, Sharon Jo (Rick) Shiverdecker of Fulton, Karen Ruth (Kevin) Wellman of Fowler, Ill., and Tiffani (Randy) Maxwell of Mexico; six grandsons, Ryan Totten of Fulton, Matthew Totten of Parkville, Zachary Williams of Mexico, Brandon (Amy) Payne of Rockford, Ill., Zane Williams of Mexico, and Jhett Maxwell of Mexico; one granddaughter, Stacey (Melvin) Linder of Mendon, Ill.; four great-grandchildren, Cpl. Jordan (Taylor) Payne of San Diego, Calif., Reed Linder of Mendon, Ill., Madison and Macy Payne of Rockford, Ill.

     

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Delores was a 50-plus year member of Littleby Baptist Church and then a 20 year member of the Laddonia Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Entre Nous Club, Perry Musique Club, El Martez, she was a 4-H leader, room mother, bible school leader and Sunday school teacher. She loved gardening, playing piano but most of all she was a devoted farm wife.

     

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.
