Doris “Jeannie” Thompson

Doris “Jeannie” Thompson, 71, of Centralia, passed away on Sunday, October 27, at Heritage Hall in Centralia.

A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, at Arnold Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

A lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Chiefs, Jeannie could always be found cheering on her favorite teams, even in the toughest seasons. An avid outdoors person, Jeannie enjoyed fishing and swimming, especially when shared with loved ones.

Above all, she was dedicated to family, finding great joy in teaching her nieces and nephews skills and stories on the family farm. Jeannie also shared her musical talents by playing piano for services where she was a cherished member.

She is survived by a brother, Steve Thompson; four nieces, Conya Thompson of Mexico, Michele (Ted) Rhoades of Kansas City, Laura (Matthew) Crawford of Kan. and Melissa (Levi) Boyd of Kansas; two nephews, Craig (Diana) Thompson of Mexico and Eric (Katie) Faler of Mo.; two sisters, Shelley Thompson Faler and Tanis (Jim) Commerford both of Mo.; uncle Ray Love of Mexico; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and longtime best friend, Steve Nichols of Mexico.

Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Ann Thompson; a brother, George Thompson; and an uncle, Otis Thompson.

Memorial may be made to Bethany Cemetery. They may be sent to Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson St., Mexico, MO 65265.
