Memorial services for Elizabeth Nadine Brown, 92, of Perry, will be held at 12:00 P.M., Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Cannon Dam Opry in Perry with Pastor Kenny Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in Fern Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M., Friday until the time of the service at the Opry.
Bienhoff Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Brown passed away at 11:03 P.M., Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Luther Manor Nursing Home in Hannibal surrounded by her family.
She was born on September 14, 1930, in Perry, the daughter of Rollie Richard and Sarah Helen Buffington Robinson.
Elizabeth married Rex DeWitt Brown on July 28, 1951, in Hannibal and he preceded her in death on February 20, 2023.
Survivors include her nine children: Calvin (Gina) Brown of Perry, Richard (Tina) Brown of Monroe City, Lance (Sherrie) Brown of Monroe City, Bruce (Cindy) Brown of Perry, Marilyn (Rick) Frey of Perry, Rita (John) Gottschalk of Wright City, Vickey (Bill) Nutt of Vandalia, Helen (Randy) Watson of Lee's Summit, and Karen (Jake) Mast of Moberly, and one brother; Raymond (Joyce) Robinson of Marceline. Elizabeth left a large legacy with 91 grandchildren, great, and great great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother; Johnie Robinson, two sisters; Lettie Peery and Evalene Enochs, and one granddaughter; Beth Spradley.
Mrs. Brown was a lifetime area resident and a member of the Union Chapel Christian Church in Center. Elizabeth raised her children at home and later worked as a cook for 15 years at Twain Haven Nursing Home in Perry. She loved spending her time painting tea towels and doing puzzles. Most of all, Elizabeth loved to bake her homemade cinnamon rolls and cook for family dinners.
