The Eastern Missouri Family YMCA, Vandalia, is participating in the YMCA Day of Giving on Tuesday, March 1, with a focus on additional Wellness Center equipment.
YMCA Day of Giving is an annual one-day giving event across the United States that provides an opportunity to give to the local YMCA.
“We are excited to kick off our 2022 annual support campaign with this one-day event,” said a spokesperson. “This is our first year to participate with other YMCAs across the country in the YMCA Day of Giving.”
All of the funds raised on March 1 will be used for additional equipment and supplies for the Wellness Center, such as jump boxes, a kick punching bag and more. The goal is $500.
“All donations, no matter the amount, will be appreciated,” said the spokesperson, “as we focus on this one-day event.”
Donations may be dropped off at the YMCA on Tuesday, March 1, or mailed to PO Box 32, Vandalia, MO, 63382 with a memo “day of giving.”
“The Vandalia community always steps up when there is a need,” said the spokesperson, “and we are hopeful for a good response on this Day of Giving.
Since opening in 2019, the Eastern Missouri YMCA has offered youth programs to include basketball, football, indoor soccer, wiffle ball, kickball, volleyball, ballet, tumbling, speed and agility programs and more. The Y has hosted cake and cookie decorating and painting classes. In addition, the Y has sponsored community-wide diaper drives, lap blanket drives, and has partnered with Audrain County Department for COVID-19 clinics.
Donations on YMCA’s Day of Giving will help ensure efforts like these continue in 2022 as Eastern Missouri Family YMCA continues to grow and to serve area families.
