Richard Alan Smith, III, 26, of Fulton is charged with three counts each of Possession of Child Pornography and Furnishing Pornography to a Minor by Callaway County Prosecutors.
According to court records on December 28, 2022, a woman came to the Callaway County Juvenile Office and said her daughter, who is 16, was exchanging nude images with a man. The woman said her daughter, has the mental capacity of a 10-year-old.
Callaway County deputies found the two exchanged explicit messages and images. On March 16, 2023, deputies spoke with Smith. Court documents reveal Smith first denied speaking to the girl, however he later admitted he sent the images when he was drunk. Smith said he believed the girl was 17.
He was being held in the Callaway County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
