Funeral services for Gloria Dean McKinney, 92, of Vandalia, will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Vandalia, with Pastor Bobby Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Laddonia Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. McKinney passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

She was born on November 11, 1933 in Audrain County the daughter of Joe Henry and Ethyl Lou Jackson Righter.

Gloria married Virgil F. Girard on May 16, 1952 and she later married Norman F. McKinney on October 28, 1988 in Mexico and he preceded her in death on November 25, 2023.

Survivors include two sons; Dana (Patsy) Girard of Clinton, OK and Virgil Girard of Joplin, one daughter; Denise Willis of Vandalia, one step son; Norman "Dutch" (Bobbi Sue) McKinney, Jr., of Park Hills, three step daughters; Patricia Davis of Park Hills, Theresa Dalton of Bowling Green and Michele Scott of St. Louis, eight grandchildren, seventeen step grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, thirteen step great grandchildren, three step great great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, one son Randall Girard, and seven sisters; Emma Pease, Lois Landers, Betty Goodman, Billie Williams, Rheva Griggs, Villa Graves, and Fern Hanson.

Gloria was a lifelong area resident and a faithful member of the Bible Holiness Church of Bowling Green. Gloria was elected as City Clerk for Vandalia for four years, she also had secretarial positions at the Fire Brick Plant, the Missouri Department Highway and Transportation Office, and for the Equipment Department.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing piano, working in her yard, tending to her flowers, always stayed active and productive. Gloria found joy spending treasured time with her family and lifetime friends.

Pallbearers will be Great Grandsons: Cael Leakey, Easton and Griffin Davis, Cole, Cade and Ryan Girard. Honorary Pallbearers Garrett and Carey Graves, Eddie and Kevin Griggs, Keith Landers, Gary and Leon Pease, and Steve Woolridge.
