Josephine “Jody” Todd, 78, of Laddonia, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Monroe City Manor, surrounded by her son and daughter.

Memorial services for Jody was Friday, October 18, 2024, at 5p.m.. at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Laddonia. Visitation was before time of service. Cremation rites are under the direction of Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes and Crematory in Bowling Green.

Jody was born in Vandalia, on October 10, 1946. Her parents, Eunice and Hurley “Skeeter” Garnett preceded her in death.

Also preceding Jody in death are brother, Darrill Lynn; and sisters, Charlotte Gibbs and Shirley Kuda.

Jody is survived by children, Hope Todd Markley (Matt) and Kevin Todd (Tammy); grandchildren: Logan Markley, Talon Markley, Hannah Todd, Jeremy Todd, and Jacob Todd; two great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and siblings: Warren Peter Lynn, Bobby Lynn, Charles Lynn, and Juanita Cope.

Jody lived in Laddonia most of her life. She served many leadership roles at the First Baptist Church in Laddonia. She recently recommitted to her faith at Martinsburg Community Church. She had also served on the City Council while living in Benton City, Missouri. Jody was a member of the Rebecca’s Club as well.

When her children were young, Jody was a stay-at-home mom. She often coached the kid’s Khoury League teams. Once the children were a little older, Jody went to work outside the home.

Jody liked decorating and crafting. She had a green thumb and had lots of plants, inside and out. She was a wonderful mother who would sacrifice anything for her kids. As a grandmother, she was always visiting and attended as many of the grandchildren’s activities as possible. Jody was a collector of tea pots. She was a proud grandmother, and always looked forward to the fall family trips. Jody was also an avid Elvis fan.
