Mexico freshman Alexus Johns and Centralia sophomore Madie Shelton are heading to the Class 1 girls wrestling state meet in two weeks. Johns finished second at 235 pounds and Shelton was third at 120 pounds on Saturday to finish the Class 1 District 2 tournament at North Point High School in Wentzville.
Mexico's Abby Bowen and Centralia's Gretchen Marriott and Besan Juma each were one match away from a state berth.
North Callaway's lone wrestler Brooke Giboney lasted until the second day on Saturday before being eliminated in the morning.
