A small stove top fire late Saturday evening caused limited damage at a home on Quantico Road in Mexico.
Firefighters from the Mexico Public Safety Department extinguished the blaze before it spread beyond a cabinet next to the stove. An investigation revealed that a resident had placed a pan on the stove and forgot about it.
There were no injuries and damage was limited to the stove and area around it.
