The Mexico League of Women Voters held a City Council and Mexico School Board Candidate Forum, Tues. March 26. There are 5 candidates for City Council: Josh Price, Vicki Briggs, Chris Miller, Laine Chedwick and Cameron Bessolo. Voters will be choosing two City Council seats.
There are 4 candidates for the Mexico School Board: Chris Williams, Michelle Stephens, Jennifer Gore and Lennette Brown. Voters will be choosing one 2-year term Board member- Lennette Brown is the only person vying for that position; and two 3-year Board members, Chris Williams, Michelle Stephens and Jennifer Gore are in that race.
Each candidate was given two questions from the League, which they were able to prepare answers for prior to the meeting. After that, there were questions submitted by the audience that the candidates each had an opportunity to answer.
The Forum was very informative and helps those who attend get to know the candidates; their viewpoints and goals, enabling voters to make educated decisions.
