Mexico shuts out Moberly again 10-0
Mexico still hasn't allowed Moberly to score a run this year.
The Lady Bulldogs (11-12, 5-3 NCMC) defeated their North Central Missouri Conference rival 10-0 in five innings on Thursday in Moberly (7-15, 3-5 NCMC). They defeated Moberly 5-0 earlier this season and needed six hits to win, and Maddy Feger had two big ones that drove in four RBI.
Feger had a double along with Kaleigh Samuelson, who was 1-fo-2 with two runs and one RBI. Scottie Smith was 1-for-2 with two RBI, two runs and a triple, and Landri Teel had one RBI.
Keerstan Ewing pitched five innings with two hits and two strikeouts.
Mexico hosts Class 3 No. 5 Southern Boone (18-9) at 9 a.m. Saturday before hosting Palmyra (2-17) at 1 p.m.
Community R-6 breaks three-game losing streak with 10-0 victory over Van-Far in Audrain County showdown
Community R-6 ended its three-game losing streak but extended a three-game losing streak against an Audrain County rival.
The Lady Trojans (17-8) defeated Van-Far 10-0 in six innings at home on Senior Night, finishing with 12 hits. Jocelyn Curtis pitched a no-hitter in seven innings while striking out seven and walking one.
Senior Rylee Rafferty finished 2-for-3 with two RBI, a triple and a double; Lydia Hoyt went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double; Chloe Johnson went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double; and Curtis had two RBI.
Dalana Gay allowed six runs on four hits and two walks in two innings pitched for Van-Far (2-16), but three of those runs went as unearned.
Community (5-1 CAC) hosts Central Activities Conference foe New Franklin (15-3, 5-0 CAC) at 5 p.m. Friday while Van-Far plays at Marion County (5-9) at 5 p.m. Monday.
North Callaway explodes with insurance in 8-0 against Silex
The lead wasn't too big for North Callaway on Thursday.
Then the ball started leaving the yard. The Ladybirds increased a 3-0 lead in the fifth and sixth innings with three home runs to defeat Eastern Missouri Conference foe Silex (9-14, 4-4 EMO) 8-0 at home. Ella Slater hit a two-RBI home run in the fifth, Kendra Pennell (2-for-2) hit her second two-RBI home run of the season and her career in the sixth, and Kymorie Myers (3-for-4 with three RBI and a double) launched a monster solo home run over a parked truck beyond the fence in the sixth.
Megan Schmidt pitched seven innings with nine strikeouts, five hits and one walk. North Callaway (17-9, 6-2 EMO) supported her with 11 hits.
North Callaway plays Kirksville (9-12) in the first round of the Centralia Invitational at 10:45 a.m. on the Bicentennial Park east field.
Centralia dominant against in CCC, Brown seizes record in 13-0 win at Clark County
Centralia is playing with a No. 1 ranking in Class 3 and showed why on Thursday.
The Lady Panthers stayed undefeated in the Clarence Cannon Conference with a 13-0 win at Clark County (9-12, 0-4 CCC) , outhitting the Lady Indians 14-3. Jaylynn Brown achieved the school single-season strikeout record with 18 punchouts in seven innings along with three hits and one walk. She had been chasing it all year, recording nine double-digit strikeout games prior to Thursday.
Madi Johnson led Centralia (17-3, 4-0 CCC) by going 3-for-4 with four RBI, three runs, and and a double; Cora King finished 2-for-2 with three RBI, two walks and a double; Bailey Schuering went 3-for-4 with one RBI; and Claire Brinkman went 2-for-4 with two runs and a double.
Centralia is the top seed in the Centralia Invitational on Saturday, starting against Hannibal (1-18) at 9 a.m. at Bicentennial Park west field.

Centralia loses in straight sets at Southern Boone
The Lady Panthers lost in three sets at Southern Boone (12-25, 17-25, 13-25) on Thursday.
Centralia hosts Mexico (9-7) at 7 p.m. Monday.
