Mexico School District 59 administration and Board of Education are pleased to announce that Ms. Julie Lower has been named the Principal for the Mexico Middle School for the 2021-2022 school year.
Julie is currently the Assistant Principal for Middle School. She has been in education for 21 years and all of those years have been served in our district. She has also held the positions of Special Education Teacher, Guidance Counselor, and Assistant Principal at Eugene Field.
Julie holds a Masters in School Counseling from Stephens College and a Masters in School Administration from William Woods University. She also has a Specialist in Education Administration from Williams Woods University.
Julie is the parent of Mason who is a Senior at Mexico Senior High School and has a wonderful significant other, Joe. Julie grew up just down the road in Martinsburg Missouri. She will soon be moving to the country where she looks forward to setting by the pond and listening to the tree frogs again.
Julie’s greatest blessing in her life is her son Mason, who has kept her busy with sports, hunting, fishing, and anything else outdoors. He will be graduating soon and will be leaving the nest to go to State Tech in Linn to become a Lineman. Julie is really close to her parents and sisters. She and her family enjoy spending time together, when she is not at school.
Julie hobbies include singing, going to the movies, hanging out on the patio with friends, and going for side by side rides out in the country with Joe.
Julie says “I’m so very blessed to be able to continue my career here serving the teachers, students, and families as we work together to continue growing in our mission of Making Minds Stronger at Mexico Middle School. I’m proud to be a part of this district and this community, and hope to be here for many more years to come.”
Julie will officially start her position as principal July 1, 2021.
