Mexico, Missouri: In honor of Mexico Native and Head Coach of the Los Angeles Clippers, Tyronn Lue, the Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce is collaborating with Coach Tyronn Lue’s C2C (Commitment To Community) Initiative to host the eighth annual Community Day of Service, September 20th, 2024. This marks the first year C2C will be a co-sponsor of the event.

“The best way to honor Coach Tyronn Lue’s commitment to Mexico and his investment in kids is to do what he does best, give back. It is our hope the whole community will find a way to be involved,” Director of the Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce, Dana Keller said.

All Mexico Public School Students Pre-K – 8th grade, St. Brendan and the Missouri Military Academy participate. Additionally, Mexico High School students incorporate community service initiatives into homecoming week celebrations. Projects range from special one-day projects, kicking off annual campaigns, collection drives, as well as community beautification.

In recognizing the incredible commitment of Coach Lue’s investment to our community, we are working hard to engage more participation of Mexico’s civic organizations and businesses. There is a place for everyone. To register events with the chamber office email: mexicochamber@mexico-chamber.org or phone: 573-581-2765.

To highlight and document Community Day of Service activities, the Chamber requests community members to share pictures and commentary on the Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce or the Tyronn Lue Community Day of Service Facebook pages. For all social media posts, please use the hashtag #TyLueServes24.
