Christopher Fletcher has been named the inaugural baseball coach at Moberly Area Community College.

Fletcher is a 2008 graduate of Moberly High School. Following his playing career at Moberly, Fletcher played collegiate baseball at North Central Missouri College (2009-10) and William Woods University (2010-12).

As head Greyhounds baseball coach, Fletcher will begin competitive NJCAA Division II play during the 2022-23 school year.

He has college coaching experience, having served as head coach at William Woods University since 2019. Fletcher was also assistant coach there from 2015-19. As a graduate assistant at William Woods (2014-15), he was part of a conference championship team and also was the assistant coach at Truman State University, where the Bulldogs were regional champions and qualified for the World Series.

Additionally, coach Fletcher has coached summer league baseball in the Lewis and Clark League (2013), Northwoods League (Thunder Bay Canada in 2014), Prospect League (Hannibal Caveman in 2015) and MINK League (Jeff City Renegades in 2017).

“I am beyond excited to get back to the Moberly community and start the Greyhound baseball program,” said Fletcher, “I started my baseball life in Moberly and now have the opportunity to start collegiate baseball in my hometown. It’s going to be nice to be back with lifelong friends and be around our families more often. My family and I couldn’t be more excited to wear red and be Greyhounds.”

Fletcher and his wife Rachael have two children: Brooks (3) and Baylor (5).
