Macon slips by as Mexico season ends after 2-1 loss

Mexico had the lead until late in the game on Thursday in the Class 4 District 7 tournament championship game in Macon when the host and No. 2 seed Tigers (22-6) put together a two-out rally in the sixth inning to take and keep the lead in a 2-1 season-ending loss for the Bulldogs (10-19). The No. 5 seed Bulldogs had an impressive tournament that saw them defeat conference rival Moberly 11-1 in six innings and then upset top seed and state-ranked Hallsville 6-1. Austin Maxwell had an RBI single, and Landyn Kleinsorge allowed five hits and one walk in five shutout innings.
