Howard Malcolm Foster, 78, of Mexico, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer.

Memorial Services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, at Arnold Funeral Home with Kevin Wilkerson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation is Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Malcolm was born on April 23, 1944, in Elmwood, Ill., the son of James M. and Rose Marie (Feeser) Foster. He moved to Mexico in 1951, graduating from Mexico High School in 1962 and attending the University of Missouri from 1962-1965.

Mr. Foster served in the United States Air Force from 1965-1969. He was stationed at the SAC Headquarters in Omaha, Neb., and also in Okinawa, Japan.

Malcolm married Janet Smith on October 21, 1967.

Mr. Foster spent his life farming and raising cattle north of Mexico and retired from the Mexico MFA in 2010. He was a member of Sunrise Christian Church and a lifetime member of the VFW #3772. Malcolm also was a member of the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association, Limousin Association and the Red Angus Association. 

Survivors include his wife, Janet Foster of the home; three daughters, Christa (Ron) Hoff of St. Paul, Missouri, Jennifer Foster of Mexico, and Kelly Foster of Mexico; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rozan (John) Coody of Bryan, Texas, and Patricia (Lee) Baker of Asbury, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews. 

Malcolm was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Mike.
