On Sunday, July 23, at approximately 8:38 p.m., the Mexico Public Safety Department (MPSD) responded to the 100 block of north Alabama Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. Responding personnel found that Charles F Picton, age 51, had become upset with an adult family member and was refusing to let them leave the home. MPSD accessed the house and Picton was arrested and transported to the Audrain County Jail for domestic assault fourth degree and kidnapping third degree. There were no injuries from the incident. Residents are reminded that people arrested or charged with a crime are simply accused of the crime and are to be considered innocent until proven guilty.
