Mary Evelyn Kanatzer was born in Mexico on April 10, 1931, and died peacefully at home on March 8, 2022, in Columbia at the age of 90. She was born to Willie and Jessie Kanatzer, joining her brother, H. Dale Kanatzer and younger sisters Wanda Kanatzer and Joan Kanatzer. Joan Stephens, Mary’s “little sister” survives. An infant brother, Edward Lee, preceded his siblings in death.
She is survived by four grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 14, at the Sturgeon Christian Church in Sturgeon. Interment will be in Mt. Horeb Cemetery in Sturgeon. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service at the Sturgeon Christian Church in Sturgeon.
