The Mexico Area Family YMCA and the Eastern Missouri YMCA are proud to announce they have received grant funding from the AP Green Foundation to support important projects that enhance youth development, wellness, and accessibility within their communities.
At the Mexico Area Family YMCA, grant funding will be used to upgrade Mexico Marlins Swim Team equipment, improving the resources necessary to support a successful and competitive swim program. These enhancements will strengthen youth development, skill progression, and athletic performance for swimmers participating in the program.
In addition, the Mexico Area Family YMCA will install a new aquatic chair lift, significantly improving accessibility within the pool facility and ensuring individuals of all abilities can safely and confidently enjoy aquatic programming.
The Eastern Missouri YMCA will use its grant funding to purchase three Aspire treadmills for the Wellness Center, replacing three older models and enhancing the quality, safety, and reliability of fitness equipment available to members.
“We are grateful to the AP Green Foundation for their investment in our Ys and the communities we serve,” CEO Brooke Oliver said.
