Mexico finishes second in Camdenton divisions, North Callaway with two medalists

Mexico had some of the top runners in its field on Saturday at the Laker XC Invite in Camdenton.

Camdenton split the teams in purple and gold divisions at Ha Ha Tonka, and Mexico was second in the purple division with 62 points, which was behind Fatima’s 42. Seth Stevenson was the top runner in the purple division with a time of 16:41.49. Mexico’s other boys medalists included Reid Bickell in 11th with a 18:06.34, Jared Freeman in 16th with a 18:17.64 and Gabe Carey in 17th with a 18:22.86.

The girls were second in the purple division with 65 points, which was behind Fatima’s 24. Maryam Waheed medaled for Mexico with an eighth-place time of 21:23.13 and so did Maria Peuster with a 10th-place time of 21:47.92.

For North Callaway, Elaina Arcala was 13th in the girls purple division with a time of 22:30.24 to medal, and Adrienne Egly also medaled with a 19th-place time of 23:22.31. Hunter Jansen finished 22nd in the boys purple division with a time of 18:49.74, and Trevor Jansen was 49th with a 21:17.91.

Van-Far takes top spots at Calvary Lutheran, Paris picks up medalists

Van-Far girls were the winners on Saturday in Jefferson City.

The Lady Indians finished first out of three schools at the Calvary Lutheran Invitational with 37 points to just beat the 38 points by Paris. Khloe Wallace finished ninth for Van-Far with a time of 23:39.60, Mylee Keller was 11th with a 23:49.62 and Elliott Utterback was 12th with a 24:10.38 to be the team’s medalists.

Paris had five medalists, including Edie Wormington with a 10th-place time of 23:46.81, Ava Crain with a 14th-place 24:39.54, Mareiya Williams with a 15th-place 24:53.72, Midori Williams with a 19th-place 25:17.17 and Hadley Dodge with a 20th-place 25:36.36.

The Van-Far boys finished second out of six schools with 51 points to be behind Vienna’s 44. Slade Keller led the medalists with a second-place time of 17:26.70, Garrett Hopke was third with a 17:28.80 and Tyler Carlyle was 11th with a time of 19:09.40.

Case Morgan was the top Paris boys finisher with a seventh-place time of 18:35.70, and Hayden DeOrnellas was 16th with a time of 19:31.
