Jeeps swarmed the downtown square Saturday for the second annual Mexico Jeep thing.
The event, hosted by Salty Heifers Co., started at 10 a.m. at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico where participants met some local veterans. At 11 a.m., the Jeeps cruised down to the square. All afternoon, there was music on the square, a “get your bucks in a row” shopping event, raffles and kid games in the Jefferson Street Mini-Park. Barb Jones, co-owner of Salty Heifers Co., said this year 87 parking spots were sold in advance.
All proceeds from the Mexico Jeep Thing were donated to the veterans home, the Central Missouri Veterans Monument Foundation and Main Street Mexico.
