The Mexico Ledger is welcoming Miranda Holman to its staff, as she assumes the role of managing editor.
Holman, a native of Clarksville, Ark. is an Arkansas Tech University alumna with dual bachelor’s degrees in English and creative writing and a master’s in communications. She previously worked as the editor and leading reporter for the Paris Express in Arkansas and was a freelance writer/editor for numerous magazines, literary journals, and websites.
“We’re happy to have Miranda on board,” said Ledger general manager Nathan Lilley. “She will be a great addition to our team and to the community.”
Holman has already been utilizing her time meeting area leaders and Mexico residents.
“I am excited for the opportunity to learn more about the community and to take on the new challenges as The Mexico Ledger managing editor,” Holman said. “I’m looking forward to meeting people in the community and settling in the community.”
Holman plans on using the adjustment period to learn more about the area and its members while featuring news that is most important to the residents.
“I plan to efficiently and effectively use my time to gather news that highlights the community of Mexico and surrounding areas,” she said. “Mexico is your town, and I am here to share all that is happening that makes the town special and unique.”
Holman asks all community members to contact her with any news or upcoming events they would like included in the paper.
She and husband William have three children, Gracelynn Pruitt of Russellville, Ark., and Keegan and Lindy Holman of Clarksville, Ark. When Holman is not working, she can usually be found in a bookstore or the local library indulging in her love for reading or at home writing poetry, Netflix binging, and spending time with her Shih Tzu’s Johnny Cash and Buttons.
Holman can be reached at editor@mexicoledger.com.
