Readers of The Mexico Ledger now have a new option to receive local news.
The newspaper has recently unveiled its redesigned website at. www.mexicoledger.com. As part of the digital expansion, The Ledger has launched an electronic edition, an exact replica of the print edition.
The website also offers opportunities for advertisers to reach the growing digital audience.
“Our priority will always remain with the print edition, but our website provides us a way to expand our content and grow our readership,” said Publisher Tim Schmidt. “As we move forward, we will be able to publish stories on the website in a more timely basis and provide news that affects you daily.
Digital-only subscriptions can be purchased through the website. Nonsubscribers will only be able to read a limited number of free articles each month.
An online edition can be purchased for $2 per day or $60 for an annual subscription. Like the print product, the digital version of the paper will continue to be available on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the same day the print product is distributed. The e-edition also is a great option for subscribers who live outside the area or out of state who have to wait several days to receive the print edition in the mail.
“We recognize that some readers prefer to read their weekly newspaper on their computer, iPad or other digital devices,” Schmidt said. “The e-edition gives subscribers the same look as the weekly print product. This allows subscribers to choose how they get their news when they want it.”
Readers will also have the opportunity to submit news items through the website, such as engagements, anniversaries, births and obituaries. Website visitors can also sign up to receive a weekly email newsletter that will feature the top headlines, local advertising deals and more.
Print-only subscriptions can also be purchased through the website.
