Mexico man injured after striking hay bale in Audrain County crash

A Mexico man was injured after crashing into a hay bale on Route 22 on Friday.

The 32-year-old driver was transported by the Audrain Ambulance District to University Hospital with minor injuries, according to the crash report issued by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at 1:32 a.m. on Route 22 near Audrain Road 963. According to the report, the driver was traveling eastbound in a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze when he struck a hay bale that was sitting in the eastbound lane of traffic. The vehicle spun and slid off the right side of the roadway, overturned, and came to rest facing west.

The Chevrolet was totaled.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of people involved in crashes.
