Recently, the Mexico School District was made aware of an incident involving the PE teacher at Eugene Field.
As a matter of protocol, the teacher was immediately placed on paid administrative leave. Placement on a leave of absence is not disciplinary action or indication of guilt or innocence. It is standard procedure in such cases and allows time for a thorough review of the facts.
“This is a sensitive situation and any allegations against the school district and its employees are taken very seriously,” said a school official. “We cannot comment on individual personnel and/or student issues.”
