Mexico Public Safety Chief Susan Rockett says she and her officers worked all night after an online threat was made against the Mexico High School and Mexico Middle School.
Chief Rockett told the Mexico Ledger this morning "It is resolved. We took the threat seriously. The person who made the threats is a minor and was brought into the station for questioning last (Thursday) night. We are working with the Mexico Schools on putting out a press release. No one is in any danger."
The Mexico Public Schools sent out an email and made calls to parents late last (Thursday) night and closed school today (Friday) due to the threats out of an abundance of caution.
Chief Rockett confirmed that the minor made the threats online.
Below is one of several threats made on the account under the user name mexico536schools. We will provide a press release from Mexico Public Safety just as soon as it is released.
